Written in the Stars: Chanel’s Forgotten Fairytale

I came across something recently that honestly felt like a little fashion fairytale, and now I can't stop thinking about it. There's fashion lore that before the camellia flower became one of Chanel's signature symbols, a star was once discussed because Coco Chanel was fascinated by astrology, symbolism, luck, and all things mystical. Whether completely true or partly myth, it somehow feels very fitting for a woman who turned black dresses, cigarette smoke, and emotional mystery into an empire.

Once you learn more about Chanel, the whole world around her starts to feel less like fashion and more like mythology. Her Paris apartment was filled with mirrors, lions, celestial objects, lucky charms, and symbolic details long before spirituality became trendy. She believed deeply in intuition, energy, and signs.

And honestly, the idea that Chanel almost had a star as part of its identity feels strangely perfect. There's something romantic about it - like fashion mixed with destiny and a tiny bit of chaos.

But in the end, the camellia won. Elegant, polished, timeless, impossible to wrinkle. Very Chanel.

Still... I kind of love imagining an alternate universe where women all over the world are wearing little gold Chanel stars instead.
