Serena Bocchino and Yoo Choong Mok Present Between Movement and Stillness at AP SPACE
AP SPACE is proud to present Between Movement and Stillness, a captivating dual exhibition featuring the works of internationally acclaimed artists Serena Bocchino and Yoo Choong Mok, on view through August 30, 2025, at 555 W 25th Street, New York, NY.

This thoughtfully curated exhibition explores the poetic interplay of rhythm, memory, and transformation, expressed through Bocchino’s vibrant abstract paintings and Yoo’s luminous glass sculptures. Together, their works create a meditative dialogue between motion and pause, inviting viewers to experience the beauty that emerges in the space between.
Serena Bocchino, a contemporary American painter celebrated for her dynamic visual interpretations of music and dance, brings a powerful sense of energy to the exhibition. Her practice is deeply informed by her synesthetic perception, a rare condition in which sound manifests as color, shape, and movement. Working with layers of enamel, oil, and graphite, Bocchino creates compositions that pulse with life, each canvas evoking the improvisational rhythms of jazz or the graceful arc of dance. Her work has been exhibited in major institutions worldwide, including MoMA PS1, the Bronx Museum, and the CAFA Museum in Beijing.
Yoo Choong Mok, an award-winning Korean glass artist, offers a striking counterpoint to Bocchino’s kinetic style. Known for his delicate, minimalistic glass forms, Yoo employs hand-blown glass droplets set against panels of soft yellow wood and raw canvas. His works, inspired by dancheong (traditional Korean decorative coloring) and the five symbolic Korean colors, shimmer and transform with changing light, embodying the fleeting nature of memory and the passage of time. Yoo’s accolades include the National Glass Center Grand Prize and the NICHE Award, and his exhibitions have spanned Korea, Europe, and the United States.
