Rosina~Mae Swim Collection in the Eplorium “Strike A Pose” NYFW
Rosina~Mae showed a capsule swim collection in the Eplorium “Strike A Pose” NYFW runway showcase which featured the works of local slow fashion designers on the last day of Fashion Week. Local venue, GutterBar (which is actually a bowling alley) transformed into a delightful space for a runway show.

Rosina~Mae takes you “from the beach, to the street, to the Party!” “Nocturnal” Resort 26/27 features slow-fashion swim tops made with colorful reclaimed lace and mesh fabrics. They were sourced from FabScrap and Materials for the Arts. It also consists of bio-material accents, and draped cover-up skirts which were innovatively patchworked with cut-outs and unique ways to wear. Everything is sheer, but yet the models are still covered up.
This collection is lightweight and packable. Perfect for a night swim and also after parties at the techno club. Complete with places to attach necessities like keys, it builds upon previous Rosina~Mae collections. The bright color palette even glows perfectly under blacklight so you can be spotted on the nearby dance floor. Creating gorgeous lines over curves of one's body, these are wearable works of art.

“I was busy sewing each look myself and It was very labor intensive, yet so much fun at the same time. My favorite part is finding a place for each scrap. I aim (for my brand) to be as zero-waste as possible. I’m excited to get right back into sewing more limited edition cover-ups,” Rosie explains.

Additional brand milestones include Rosina~Mae’s first-ever DIY event on November 28, hosted by Rosie to counter overconsumption culture and foster a more community-driven approach to crafting.

“Community is so important right now and I think people are really excited about connecting with new friends through arts and crafts,” Rosie highlights. “While many brands regularly promote shopping and consumerism on Black Friday, I wanted to bring the community together to craft and learn new skills instead.”
“The concept was simple. I chose to have a DIY workshop on prize ribbons and chokers…and you get to keep what you make at the end. I liked the thought of everyone being able to have their own personalized piece of Rosina~Mae,” adds Rosie.
Held at the beautiful Queens Council on the Arts thanks to the Climate Futures Studio, the workshop was a collaboration between Rosina~Mae and Climate Cafe. It was wonderful seeing people of all ages come together and enjoy hands-on activities versus falling into the trap of consumerism. Gianna Lum of Climate Cafe started the event with a grounding meditation. Later, there was a small discussion on climate emotions with an emphasis on ethical gifting during the holidays.
