Noize, A Brand Driven By A Team of Animal Lovers To Design a Clothing Line That Is Vegan and Sustainable

Noize was founded on the belief that what we wear should look and feel great and champion positive contributions to a better tomorrow. Noize is an apparel brand designing cruelty-free, sustainable, and vegan clothing. But we’re more than that. We’re a company with a mission. We’re a brand and a movement. We are a team of animal-lovers driven by the belief that building a better world starts by making smarter decisions today. We’ve said farewell to animal by-products because vegan and cruelty-free are core to this idea, and we source innovative textiles and sustainable goods wherever possible. What we say, we mean. And whenever we can, we will do what it takes. Following are comments from Mayer Vafi, managing director, NOIZE.

How important is sustainability to the fashion industry?
Fashion is the second-largest polluting industry, just behind big oil. Many brands have committed to better business practices in the last few years, and with so many alternatives now available, we have a chance.

Since all of Noize's stores are based in Canada, are you planning on expanding and opening retail stores in the United States?
Yes! We are super excited to open some stores in the United States. The events of the last two years have slowed down our plans but rest assured- our first U.S location will be in New York, and we are excited about it.

Do you believe that consumers are making more of an effort now to buy sustainably in comparison to when the brand started in 2010?
The data don't lie! The conscious consumer is out there, and we see it. We see many searches for vegan products, Faux-Fur, and recycled materials. The consumer is educated and is making better choices, and it's our job to meet that demand.

What makes your brand different from other cruelty-free and sustainable brands?
Our design aesthetic. We provide trendy, fashionable products with incredible value. We are "COOL WITHOUT THE CRUEL."

With the impact of COVID-19 on retail stores and online shopping, how have you adapted your eCommerce site?
Like most DTC brands, we saw an increase in sales due to the pandemic, and I am proud of the team for keeping that customers happy as we continue to repeat purchases. Regarding our products, our assortment provides the comfort, functionality, and trend that allows her/him/they to go from the ZOOM meetings to the office or run errands while looking great. In retail, we follow government guidelines and we work EXTRA hard on cleaning surfaces and hangers to ensure a safe environment. We sanitize the warehouse and all packing material as well.

Is there any celebrity/ influencer you would love to see wearing Noize's apparel?
There are so many celebrities making better life choices, and we work with a lot of them already, but, if I had to pick,  I'd say, Ariana Grande and Leo (Leonardo DiCaprio )for the younger readers, lol.

Discuss eco-friendly fabrics like ECONYL and how that technology works in manufacturing your products?
ECONYL is the perfect example of "One person's trash is another person's treasure." They collect discarded fishing nets and other single-use plastics and repurpose them into yarn. The yarn gets woven into different types of fabrics. Their process sounds simple, but it's complex.

The prices of your cruelty-free and sustainable products are pretty affordable. How important is it to you that these products be accessible to many?
Very important. What's the point of doing good if only a select few can benefit from it? We work hard to ensure our products remain accessible. Yes, we want to provide value, but our main focus is our purpose.

Where do you see Noize going in the next few years? Do you have any goals you want to achieve?
We want to continue to create more product categories, grow our retail expansion, and grow our community; these goals solve our fiscal objectives, and that's important. We also want to continue to find better business practices and work with innovative materials and push the boundaries. Work with Cactus leathers and mushroom-based fabrics, maybe even with apple leather.
