Fall is just around the corner, and that means pumpkin spice this, maple scented that, switching from iced coffee to hot (maybe?), and filling your surroundings, wardrobe, and every other aspect of your life with burnt orange aesthetic. The fall season oftentimes provides us with some of the most exciting moments in fashion, as worldwide fashion week runways showcase what will be ‘in’ and what will be ‘out’, and as our heat-bearing wardrobes shift to something more creative.

The fall season allows for extensive inspiration for fashion and beauty. This year, however, fall style might feel different. The typical set of spellbinding runways, models, designers, and beauty artists might not be showing in-person this year. But that doesn’t mean the fall season won’t provide us with a plethora of beauty and fashion trends to try.

Countless trends have emerged throughout quarantine. Many of these trends gain momentum as we move into the next season. Maybe it’s because we’ve had more time to focus on our beauty regimens and play around with our makeup. Maybe it’s because we no longer have to impress the public, so we experiment. Our skin, makeup, and hair are simply for us, perhaps for the first time in a long time.

Whatever sources of inspiration took charge over the last few months, it’s no doubt that fall beauty trends have outdone themselves. As we continue to experiment with how we want to express ourselves through our hair and makeup, here are some of the fall 2020 beauty trends to monitor.

Hair
Quarantine hair was all too real for the past months. Without our beloved stylists to visit and their ability to fix whatever mess our hair was in, we were left to our own devices. That, however, did not stop many of us. Experiences with-home cuts and color applications flooded the internet as individuals added colorful streaks, bleached sections, and even cut their own bangs.

These trends were not just some at-home activities to avoid going stir crazy; many of them were seen around the runway and on influencers. The best part is that there’s no stopping. Even when the quarantine lets up for some, these trends are here to stay. In fact, they’re becoming popular and maybe more often professionally done this fall.

Shaggy Cuts & Bobs
If you’re looking for an easy fall trend to pull off, Shaggy Cuts and Bobs will be the rage this fall.

Roots
Another fun fall hair trend is visible roots. The root trend was due to the fact that salons were not open and therefore no one to touch up your previously dyed hair. But the trend also became very purposeful. Letting your roots grow and dying the top of the hair a different color have allowed  roots to become a 2020 hair trend.

Dyed Strips & Temporary Color
You love these fall hair trends, but are not ready to fully commit? Then, partially dying or temporarily coloring your hair is the fall trend for you. Seen on and off the runways, fun streaks of color or whole heads of pastel are a great way to change your fall beauty routine.

Makeup
Makeup is another beauty area where over past months, there has been experimentation, as has been seen on the fall-winter 2020 runways, influencer feeds, and in everyday life. We see bright eyeshadow, over-liner, and no-makeup makeup displayed again and again.

Bright & Multi-Colored Eyeshadow
Burnt orange is taking over and it’s not even October yet! Warm fall colors are a fun addition to your fall 2020 makeup routine.

Overliner
A trend we have seen little of before, the overliner eye look was extremely popular on the F/W runways this year. Huge name brands such as Prada, Valentino and Stella McCartney showed models sporting their own variations of this look. That means we must also try it out.

‘No-Makeup’ Makeup & Natural Glow
The last and final fall 2020 trend to keep on your radar no matter what is no-makeup makeup. This look, which has a natural glow and effortless feel, is the perfect beauty routine for every day. A no-makeup makeup look is ideal for countless hours of Zoom calls. It makes you look and feel presentable, while you barely remember you have a makeup routine at all.
