As protests continue to range across the nation, you may be wondering how many different ways you can get involved with the Black Lives Matter movement.  Of course, the answer to that question is vast, but it seems that taking action may be as simple as doing something you already do each day: shopping.

Solid representation of darker skin tones in beauty brands is often hard to come by. Many brands call it at two to three darker shades in a mix of countless lighter shades, which has oftentimes caused uproars within the beauty community. This is why, in a time where brands are beginning to focus more on diversity, it feels correct to support the brands made by people directly affected by racism in the beauty industry.

Here are 15 black-owned beauty brands that you can support in these dire times or anytime.
