Kenzo Takada, born February 27, 1939, was a Japanese designer who lived in France. His love for fashion developed at a young age. His fashion inspiration was from Paris and the designer Yves Saint Laurent. He studied fashion at Tokyo’s Bunka Fashion College and had won the Seon Award with his unique design at a fashion design competition. Later on, he founded Kenzo, his brand, which focuses on perfumes, skincare products, and clothes. 

The sudden death of the Japanese designer is a big loss for the fashion Industry. In a contribute to this recent death, we rewind some of his famous designs. 

1. Kenzo’s runway in Paris. 1971. Bringing the first black model to appear on Italian Vogue 

2. The brand’s most recent runway. Ready to Wear // We can see the designer combined the effects of fashion and the environments around us into these new collections. Masks and full-face cover still maintain the elements of Japanese cultures within it.

3. Since 1993 the brand Kenzo is owned by the French luxury goods company LVMH.

4. In 2016, he created a perfume for Avon.

5. FlowerbyKenzo, launched in 2000 was listed on Vogue’s website a one of the best classic French perfumes of all time.
