The Little Mermaid Premiere Brings High Fashion From Under the Sea

If we weren’t already excited to watch Disney’s The Little Mermaid, the blue carpet premiere looks just made us even more eager. With the rising popularity of “mermaid-core” fashion and aquatic designs, we were thrilled to see the stars bring high fashion from under the sea. Celebs walked the blue carpet in oceanic-inspired gowns in beautiful cool-toned colors while others opted for all-white or all-black looks. Halle Bailey, who stars as Ariel, made a splash on the blue carpet at the world premiere of The Little Mermaid in Los Angeles. The metallic Valdrin Sahiti dress, which resembles a crashing wave, instantly went viral on social media. The dress also felt reminiscent of the iconic scene in the animated film where Ariel makes waves singing “Part of Your World.”

Heidi Klum looked like a real-life fairy godmother at the Los Angeles premiere of The Little Mermaid. The supermodel wore a whimsical, butterfly-inspired gown by Jasmin Erbas. The sequined sheer dress fit in with the ongoing theme of nature and fantasy.

Actress Simone Ashley looked like a siren goddess on the London blue carpet wearing a Victoria Beckham Autumn/Winter 2023 gown. The sheer, flowy panels of the dress alluded to the movement of seaweed. Simone’s nude look was sultry while still subtly fitting the aquatic theme.

Jessica Alexander, who plays Vanessa in the film, channeled her inner villain at The Little Mermaid’s London premiere. Justin Hamilton styled the actress in a Dilara Findikoglu feather top and sheer sequined skirt accessorized with Cartier jewelry and Christian Louboutin shoes. Jessica posted the all-black look to Instagram saying that the inspiration was a “divine black swan.”

Actress and model Sienna King stunned in London wearing a Feben Autumn/Winter 2023 dress. Sienna’s all-white look was pure and elegant while still seemingly referencing the ocean and coral reefs.

Jourdan Dunn looked like a perfect catch at the London premiere wearing a Casablanca knit dress. The model accessorized the blue fishnet dress with Boodles jewelry and a pair of Aquazzura heels.

Kajsa Mohammar wore a simple yet stunning Stella McCartney dress to the London premiere. The pink gown beautifully draped the actress’ body for an effortlessly chic look. Olga Timofejeva, Kajsa’s stylist, said on Instagram that the vision was “Hollywood old school glam in empowering mermaid world.”
