Snow Xue Gao Spring 2024: Lower East Side Love

Snow Xue Gao has consistently mixed influences from both her current home, New York City, and where she grew up, Beijing. While her Spring 2024 collection integrates design elements from the East and the West, at its core, this collection is a love letter to the Lower East Side. The neighborhood not only houses her flagship store (which recently celebrated its first anniversary) but also art galleries, murals, boutiques, and parks. Given the support she has received from her local community, she showed her thanks by creating a collection highlighting cultural kinship.

A key part in making a collection meant not just for the Lower East Side woman, but for anyone, she ensured each piece could be mixed and matched conveniently. Just as Gao mixes New York and Beijing as inspirations, she mixes trendy and traditional design elements to provide an effortless upgrade to any wardrobe.

Gao’s observant nature of her customers and her neighborhood results in a collection that has something for everyone. Her signature floral prints are seen on young and flirty silhouettes, but they’re paired with a mature and refined tweed jacket. Her staple tailored trousers are styled with asymmetric crop tops. This collection has proven Gao has mastered the art of juxtaposition.
