A.Potts - Finding Nature in NYC

Designer Aaron Potts debuted his Spring 2024 collection as part of New York Fashion Week’s Men’s Day. The collection, titled URBANEARTH, is inspired by natural growth in an urban city. The color story backs this theme best: black, white, navy, and tan are contrasted with bright oranges, pinks, and metallic golds. The bright multicolored gowns in the mix of neutral workwear evoke the same feeling as walking down city streets and seeing a flower bed next to a subway station. A joyful surprise, one you’re tempted to take a photograph of. These clothes are ones you want to be photographed in as well.

Potts focuses on making genderless collections, and this season he introduced new figure-hugging silhouettes along with his usual oversized staples. Potts himself described the collections as “Werk-Wear” with looks perfect for every event you could imagine. A chic orange short set for traveling, a striped mini dress for brunch with your girlfriends, white wide-leg pants paired with a foliage print top, and a gold gown for any formal event where you want to stand out.

A. Potts is a brand proving that making clothing for everyone doesn’t have to mean drab gray jumpsuits with nothing unique or noteworthy to separate it from the others. Play with color and proportion, mix the hard and the soft, the bright and the neutral. This collection is the flower growing through cracks in the sidewalk of genderless fashion.
