The surprise collaboration between the iconic brands came about this December (2023) and brought a bit of liveliness to the end of the year. With a luxury brand like Fendi and a designer like Hiroshi Fujiwara, a “godfather of streetwear,” there’s no wrong way to create a collection. The capsule collections jolted consumers forward, ready to shop for the newest collection only a few days into 2024. Fendi’s artistic director of womenswear, Kim Jones, spoke about her wanting to work with FRGMT. She stated her admiration for Hiroshi Fujiwara by saying, “He’s one of my idols and I love him.” In return Fujiwara discussed his opinion on the collaboration, “When Kim asks me to work on a project together, I have no reason to say no … It was a true honor to work with the house of Fendi …”, echoing the same feelings as Kim. This collaboration also adds to the list for  “Friends of Fendi,” created by Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini. Their most recent collaboration is with Italian Designer, Stefano Pilati and his more structured design, and moving towards playful designs. This collaboration between the designs, with an iconic company like Pokemon, brings a vibrancy to the collection.
