Delightful Afternoon Tea at AnnTremet Dessert Shop in the West Village, NYC

What a treat to visit AnnTremet in the West Village, NYC.  I went to their Afternoon tea service, which you have to reserve at one of their time slots. The service is 90 minutes long.  It was so decadent, I got to choose what tea I wanted and was served a fresh pot to share.  My tea of choice was blooming green tea, which was refillable. It was complementary to sweet and savory delights. I was given my option to choose a mousse cake and cookie options.  And 10 minutes later a three-tiered plate is stacked with delicious goodies to eat.  It ranged from dessert breads, salmon & cream cheese sandwiches, tomato and mozzarella served on a toothpick, prosciutto, cookies and cakes.  The presentation is amazing. The service was awesome and I got to meet the owner herself, who served us and couldn't have been nicer.  It's also cool how the pastries change seasonally, and there was even a window inside for you to see into the kitchen at the quality and hard work the bakers put into their treats.I highly recommend this hidden gem in the West Village to book with friends, date, or for Mother's day.  It's really special. It was $52 per person and I think it was worth it!

Born from the passion and innovation of two culinary enthusiasts, Annabelle and Peixin, AnnTremet's inception began in the warmth of a home kitchen. Born in Beijing, Annabelle attended university in the U.S. where she eventually met her husband, Peixin. It was here that the husband-and-wife duo experimented with the intricate mirror glaze technique. Their vision? To share these gastronomic masterpieces with New York's most discerning palates. Fast forward to May 2022, the brand planted its flagship store in Manhattan's vibrant West Village,  marking the beginning of a new chapter.

But what's in a name? "Entremet," a nod to the French pastry art, embodies the pinnacle of dessert craftsmanship. Fusing "entremet" with Annabelle’s moniker, AnnTremet emerges—symbolizing the union of French artistry with their unique flair.

Committed to uncompromising quality, AnnTremet's creations boast meticulously curated seasonal ingredients and novel pairings such as green tea, purple yam, lychee, black sesame, passion fruit to name a few.  Their philosophy includes a commitment to health, offering desserts with half the sugar content compared to typical American bakeries, allowing the authentic flavors to shine through.

Yet, for AnnTremet Cake, a cake is more than a dessert—it's an artistic expression. It's a tale, an emotion, a memory encapsulated in edible form. Beyond just satiating sweet cravings, AnnTremet Cake aims to weave into the life stories of their clientele, curating bespoke cakes for cherished moments.
