1. When did you decide that you wanted to be an actress? Who or what inspired you?
I knew I wanted to be an actor when I was around 7 years old. I loved the Disney Channel, and I could see myself performing on one of those shows. I asked my parents if I could act, and they started the process for me.  I’d have to say my mom inspired me. She’s always taught me to believe in myself and that I can do or be anything I want in life. I just have to stay focused and work hard.

2. What is your favorite role you have played in your acting career? Why?
It’s hard to pick just one because they have all been amazing in their own way, and I have grown so much as an actor from one role to the next. But if I had to choose it would probably be my most recent role as Young Cassie in HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant

The character is troubled and messy. The role was challenging, not the typical kid stuff, and I enjoyed that very much.  Also, I loved working on a series for eight episodes. The routine was great, working with the same people all the time and getting to know everyone in the cast and crew was really fun.

3. What kind of acting roles will you pursue in the future?
I love roles that are different and allow me to explore new experiences. I definitely prefer drama over comedy, but I really just enjoy the art of acting as a whole. I really want to pursue roles that lead to me being seen as a serious actress. I love characters that are dark and interesting. I also love challenging roles. I want to win an Oscar someday so I feel it’s important to build a career on roles that could someday lead me there.

4. Are there any upcoming opportunities or roles you are excited about?
I’m super excited to return for season 2 of The Flight Attendant, which begins filming this fall. I also have a new film coming out soon called, The Girl Who Got Away, and Small Time will be available for streaming soon as well.

5. What is your favorite episode of “The Flight Attendant” that you appear in? Why?
My favorite episode is 108, "Arrivals and Departures." It’s the episode where young Cassie and adult Cassie meet face to face. It’s a heartbreaking moment between the two of them and a really good scene.

6. Do you watch all the TV Shows and movies in which you have played a role?
I feel a little weird watching myself on camera, but I do see the shows and movies I’m in. I worked hard to get there so I feel it’s important to see the final product.

7. What character was the toughest for you to transform into?
I would say Emma from the film Small Time. That character had the worst, most depressing life. It took three years to film the entire movie, which was shot at different times in my life between the ages of 7 and 10. It was hard to show up as Emma over that amount of time without feeling her pain.  My scenes were stressful at times and emotional. When you see Emma on screen she is usually experiencing something traumatic in her childhood. Those scenes required a lot of feeling and tapping into moments in my life when I’ve felt hurt and pain. That can be exhausting, but I really enjoy serious acting, so I loved it.

8. How has the Pandemic impacted or changed your roles?
Filming and auditioning are quite different now. There are so many precautions that have to be taken in order to film in a safe environment. It is getting better and can be done safely. Auditions are now all self-tapes, while it’s definitely convenient, I miss in-person castings and getting to know the casting directors face-to-face.

9. What new guidelines or regulations do you have to follow?
LOTS AND LOTS of COVID testing, masks, face shields, and social distancing.

10. What accomplishment are you most proud of, and why?
I am so incredibly proud to have been nominated by the 2021 Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for The Flight Attendant. To be nominated for such a prestigious award alongside so many other incredible actors was the most wonderful and surreal moment of my life.  I’m still young and having that type of accomplishment under my belt really solidifies what my Mom has taught me from the start. I really can do anything I want to do in this life! Dreams do come true!

11. What are your socials?
I don’t use a lot of social media, but I do have Instagram! @audreygracemarshall
