2. Where are you located?
Noughty is based in London, and we also have teams in New York and Los Angeles.

3. Tell us about Noughty Haircare?
Noughty is a 97% Natural, Vegan and Cruelty-Free range of award-winning haircare products. Free from paraben, silicones and sulphates, our mission (beyond creating amazing formations!) is to bring fun, integrity, and balance to the beauty choices we all make.

4. When did the brand launch?
Noughty launched in 2016.

5. I love that you have kept your product at an affordable price, how were you able to do that since usually sourcing organic and chemical free products are more expensive?
Lorna and I wanted to ensure that Noughty was an inclusive brand and keeping is affordable was really important.  It’s been a real balance to keep the brand affordable and maintain our 97% natural stance which really delivers performance. It isn’t easy. Performance is key. Women want their haircare to perform and the ingredients needed to be at a level within the formulation where they would have a good benefit. Consequently, there was a lot of trial and error and pushing our fantastic suppliers to find the best ingredients to deliver those benefits without a big price tag. Our next focus is on how we can move away from using plastic and look at ways to deliver a more sustainable pack. We are constantly looking at the best routes for ingredients and packaging, keeping performance and affordability in check. We will never stand still.

6. You have won so many awards recently, any tip for success?
It’s all about our customers, what they need for their hair and understanding that having a “good hair day” really does make a difference. This year we have some exciting new product launches, and these products are as a direct result of customer requests. Our Noughty community shapes the future of our product development.

7. I love that you don’t take yourself so seriously and want to have some fun, can you give us an example?
The Noughty team has fun. We laugh and joke, and try to have a positive outlook on life, in general.  From the product names, to the fun content we use on our social media, you can have a seriously good product and have fun. Personally, as a Mum, there’s nothing better than, when your little one sees you as fun and one of them, it brings you closer together and builds emotional connections that are so important. I’m currently having to up my game on the Nintendo when it comes to Mario Cart; however, it’s a positive move on from him wanting to paint my face all the time.

8. Tell us about your products and the new Scalp Tonic?
Inclusivity is so important to us, and that’s why we’ve created a range to suit every hair type and texture including: Care Tak, which offers TLC for dandruff and sensitive scalps; To the Rescue, which provides nourishment for frizzy, damaged hair; Wave Hello, which is super smoothing for curly and wavy hair; Detox Dynamo, which is a two in one shampoo and conditioner to clarify and tackle product build up; Blondie Locks, which enhances and brightens blondes; Colour Bomb, which protects and enhances color; 1 Hit Wonder, which cleanses and purifies; Pumped Up, which boosts volume and builds body; and Tough Cookie, which strengthens hair to reduce splits and snaps.

Our newest addition to the Care Taker range is the innovative Scalp Soothing Tonic, a fast-acting formula that instantly relieves dry, irritated, and itchy scalps. It’s packed with a blend of naturally active ingredients, including soothing Oatmeal and calming Bisabolol, to immediately alleviate irritation leaving your scalp healthy and flake free.  

9. What is your motto in life?
Just one, OH, that’s difficult.  Based on what we are experiencing now with Covid-19, I think it would have to be, “When life hands you a lemon, then make lemonade”!
