Five Beautiful Towns In Europe

Europe has always been an amazing place to visit, and many tourists go to the more popular cities such as Paris, Madrid, and Milan. However, there are small towns that have an incomparable beauty. These towns are straight out of a fairytale and are beautiful all year round. If you travel to Europe, such towns are must-see destinations. 

Manarola, Italy

Manarola is known for its architecture, delicious wine, and art. The town is filled with colorful homes and looks like a painting. One of the special things about this town is that there are no cars present. You can drive to reach Manarola, but once you’re in the town, you’re walking. The town sits along the coast of the Tyrrehenian sea and the Groppa river. The panoramic views from this town are ethereal. Two of the most popular attractions are the harbor and the church of San Lorenzo. 

Colmar, France

This French town is referred to as “Little Venice” due to its many river canals. Known for its good company and famous for its many authentic bakeries, Colmar is a town that could be set in a fairytale. Visitors can take boat rides through the canals, similar to riding the gondolas in Venice, but at a much cheaper price. A fun fact about Colmar is that the town was the home of Auguste Bartholdi, the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty,. His childhood home now serves as the Bartholdi Museum. This town also hosts multiple festivals throughout the year, the most famous being the Christmas Markets. Colmar is a city you can visit all year round; its beauty never fades.

Hallstatt, Austria

With its stunning location on the Hallstätter Sea, this small town offers some of the most beautiful  scenery in the country. The natural beauty is enchanting to locals and tourists alike. The town is painted with pastel colors and covered with cobblestone paths. The town has mined salt for more than 7,000 years. If you love adventure, you can book an expedition to see some parts of the salt mines that visitors do not normally see. Like Colmar, France, Hallstatt’s beauty lasts all year long. During the winters, you can see the beautiful snow-covered mountains, and during fall you see the beautiful changing colors that nature has to offer. Spring brings in the local flora and fauna, and summers bring the warmth ideal for boating and swimming.

Lucca, Italy

Best known for its beautiful architecture and churches, Lucca, which dates back to the Middle Ages, is encircled by jagged walls created by the famous Leonardo da Vinci. Because of these walls, Lucca has been able to preserve its rich history. Tourists can explore the city by walking almost everywhere, allowing them to appreciate the medieval architecture. Lucca is filled with beautiful cathedrals and churches with elaborate architecture. The town square is filled with cafes and some of the best pizza spots in Italy. Lucca is a must-see tourist destination.

Ronda, Spain

Ronda, located high in the mountains on the edge of a 400-foot cliff, is known for its beautiful architecture and its high elevation. Ronda has three massive bridges, the most famous and popular  being Puente Nuevo. Built in the 18th century, it is a very popular picture spot for tourists. The streets of Ronda are unforgettable, filled with white houses and cobblestone paths. Ronda is a great spot for hikers. Since it sits above the El Tajo Canyon, there are plenty of trails and different spots for rock climbing. You can even hike from one side of the canyon to the other.
