Social Media Influencer, Lula Jones, Caught Our Attention From The UK

Lula Jones, who goes by the handle @stupidjonesss on Instagram, is a design student at the reputed Central Saint Martins College in London, UK. Her Instagram feed is colorful, fun, and one-of-a-kind. She also does portrait fashion photography on her account @lulasphotographyyy. If you are looking for a social media influencer with a unique sense of fashion, @stupidjonesss is the account to follow.

Where did your love for fashion come from?
I’ve always loved fashion. From an early age I’ve expressed myself with pattern and texture. I rebelled against the formal school uniform and wanted to express myself. I didn’t want to wear a uniform. I was obsessed with Build a bear when it came to the UK when I was about 5. I bought every item of clothing even the wardrobe and loved dressing up my teddy bears. My parents banned me as I was spending too much money so I made them on my sewing machine with lots of fabrics I had in my art room. I’ve always loved texture, patterns, and fabrics.

If you could describe your style in three words, what would they be?
Energetic, Punchy, and Bold.

If you could give your 13-year-old self a fashion tip/advice, what would it be?
Be you, express yourself, and if that happens to be a bad fashion sense for a time in your life, so be it. It will make you stand out even more as we all have to go through a bad clothing stage to learn and get to our absolute best. Experiment and be happy with your choices. Don’t care what anyone else thinks. If people look you up and down you must have made an impression.

How do you find your fashion inspirations?
Layering, mixing colors, the color wheel, what goes together, what suits your coloring. Identity and expressing your personality. Art works, Lifestyle icons. I always keep up with the latest collections and take a variety of inspirations from them—key pieces mixed up with regulars always works well.

What does your fashion utopia look like?
My big fluffy boots, chunky knitwear, antique old and new, one-off pieces, statement bags, jewelry, headscarves.

What are your fashion aspirations? Do you think being a social media influencer has helped you move towards those aspirations?
I like my social media presence to inspire and to be honest. My fashion aspirations are to keep it fresh, new, mix it all up, and have a variety of textures.

My mum is a big influence in my life and an inspiration in the way she dresses. At the moment I’m also loving Miu Miu, lots of antique shopping and artists installations/modern art and music as I think the whole vibe goes together- it has to be 3D.

You also do fantastic photography. What draws you to the art of photography?
I love my photography and styling. It’s a quick form of art with quick results and a perfect constant look book. I find visuals so inspiring and to take pictures gives me lots of ideas to look back on. I have successfully verified depop shop, which sells tee shirts worldwide with my art and photography on it @lula12jones.

Other than fashion, what else would you like to venture into?
I would love to work in a magazine doing styling photography. That would be my dream.

How do you manage your time between studying and creating content?
I have to factor it all in as I love my studies and my creative content. So, it’s a happy place. I like to be busy and sociable too. I’m in my first year at Central St Martins, which is crazy fun. We are exploring London nightlife in all its factors, which is an eye opener and inspiring.
