Influencer, Chloe Felopulos, Brings An Eclectic & Vibrant Style

Chloe Felopulos (@chloe.felopulos) is a New York based stylist and content creator. She is a graduate of Fordham University with a major in Communications and Culture and a minor in Fashion Studies. Her Instagram feed is all things colorful, eclectic, and vibrant. She has also styled celebrities with the likes of Billy Porter, Sonya Tayeh, and Tony Award winner Robert Horn.

What made you get into fashion, and where did the inspiration to start your Instagram page come from?
My love for fashion started with dressing up as a young girl. I used to dance when I was younger so I collected a lot of recital costumes, in addition to my princess dresses and old Halloween costumes. I was lucky that my early childhood was not fully infiltrated by technology and social media, so I grew up using my imagination as my main source of entertainment. I like to think my wicker basket full of costumes, accessories, and random chotskies was like my little treasure chest of fun. Now, as a 22-year-old woman, my closet acts as the same thing.

When it comes to my Instagram, I have had the app since the awkward stages of middle school. The place that I am at now is wildly different from those grainy, over exposed images, but the intention is the same: to have fun with it. I love using IG to share my personal style, my inspirations, and things/people that I love. I use it as an outlet, a way to connect with others, and as a catalyst for my career, which in today's world, social media has enabled many in doing so (as wild as it is!).

Describe your style in three words for us?
Hmm, I would have to say eclectic, funky, and fun.

What aspect of curating a look do you enjoy the most?
I really enjoy the process of it all, sometimes even the challenge of it, because it makes the final product more enjoyable. I love the way a look that I LOVE can make me feel.

Who is your style inspiration?
I have so, so many but I think some of my biggest inspirations at the moment are Savannah Hudson (@sav_hudson), Maria Bernad (@maria_bernad), and Emma Winder (@emmaxwinder).

From your Instagram page, we have seen that you like wearing various colors. What is your favorite color to wear?
I LOVE wearing the color orange, but recently chartreuse has been a fav.

What does your ideal outfit look like?
LOADS OF LAYERS playing with collars, ruffles, cuffs, and shapes. Pearls, chunky statement shoe with a fun sock or tight, fur hat, and a cheeky vintage bag.

What is one piece of clothing you have wanted to wear but haven't been able to yet?
These amazing Jeffrey Campbell platform mules. Picturing wearing them with a ruffle sock and prairie dress, but I need to figure out how to walk in them without my feet slipping out...lol!

What has been the best style advice/tip that you have received?
There's no such thing as too much.

What is your favorite thing about New York fashion?
My favorite thing is that wearing what you want, how you want, is incredibly encouraged and accepted, although there is never a dull moment with catcalling and sometimes staring. It is incredibly inspiring to see other people doing their thing and finding confidence in whatever provides it for them.

Which era in fashion do you think you belong to?
Oh LORD this is hard. I'd have to go with the late 70s though ... perfect mix of funk and edge.

What season do you love to dress up in?
FALL! Best for layering.

What do you hope for the fashion industry to become in the upcoming years?
I hope it becomes less destructive, wasteful, and harmful. I hope it becomes more representative of our world while also caring for it more. I hope it becomes less polarizing. I hope it is more nurturing and empowering. I hope it does more good than it does bad.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
I see myself continuing to create. I want to develop myself as a stylist and creative director. I also want to push my career in social media, collaborating with dream brands, which is an inspirations of mine. I hope to grow as a person, continuing to learn from my mistakes or mishaps. Lastly, I hope I am traveling my ass off!
