As schools come to an end and the weather heats up, we are all looking for a way to occupy our time, stay cool, and relax. Netflix has us covered. Throughout May, Netflix is dropping fresh selections of new arrivals to bring in the spring season. With a range of genres, there is something in there for everyone. From nostalgic classics to shocking documentaries to European rom coms, the options are open to all. So, grab your popcorn, get cozy, and enjoy the Netflix new arrivals that are landing this month.


When Harry Met Sally
This 1980s romantic comedy stars Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal on their unexpected journey through friendship that evolves from mutual dislike into a slow realization of love. Over the course of 12 years, their paths cross through chance encounters in New York City. Going through everything from heartbreaks and passing lovers, they stand by each other until the end when they realize that what they have been looking for might have been in front of them all along. This iconic New York rom-com is great if you are looking for a good laugh and a heartwarming ending.

Crazy, Stupid, Love:
In this witty romantic comedy, Cal played by Steve Carell is recently divorced and receives dating help from the lady's man at a local bar played by Ryan Gosling, who helps him go from harmless to hotshot. This film has a star-studded, comedic cast whose natural chemistry will keep you entertained the entire time. With the web of relationships, lies, and secrets you won’t be ready for all the twists and turns. Make sure you have one of the 2010s most classic rom-coms on your watchlist this summer.

Forrest Gump:
This heartfelt American classic follows the gentle and infectiously kind Forrest Gump, played by Tom Hanks, as he navigates major events of the 1960s and 70s. After surviving the war in Vietnam, becoming a ping pong champion, and creating a popular Shrimp company, the only thing still on Forrest's mind is his childhood crush Jenny. The inspiring and heartfelt story has you rooting for Forrest every step of the way.

Soul Surfer:
This movie is based on the true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton as she navigates life after the shark attack that took her left arm. As she struggles to come to terms with the reality of her new life, the hope of others helps her return to the sport she loves. This movie is inspiring not only to athletes but also to anyone overcoming an obstacle in life. This is a must-watch, feel-good drama for the summertime.

Senior Year:
Rebel Wilson stars in a new Netflix Original about a cheerleader who misses her high school experience due to a coma. She wakes up 20 years later ready to live out her dream of being prom queen. Ever thought you would see Rebel Wilson back in high school? Neither did we! This comedy will entertain you  as Rebel Wilson deals with the complexities of modern-day teenagers, social media, and romance.

The Lincoln Lawyer:
Based on the best-selling novels by Michael Connelly, this series follows Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), an idealistic Los Angeles lawyer, who is known for working on court cases from the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car. When his law partner is killed, he takes over the firm as well as a high-profile murder case. Everyone loves a good crime show, so this witty, high-energy, and suspenseful series is definitely one to tune into this summer.

The Perfect Family:
In this Netflix, Spanish Original comedy, Lucia has worked hard to create the perfect posh family until Sara comes along. Sara, her son’s new fiancée, is foul-mouthed, free-spirited and is about to turn their family upside down. The film deals with family dynamics and gives a new understanding of what the ‘perfect family’ looks like. This is a must-watch for good laughs and good ole family fun.

Our Father:
This Netflix Documentary tells the true story of a fertility doctor who inseminated dozens of patients with his own sperm without their knowledge. A woman’s at-home DNA test revealed numerous half-siblings, and she discovers the unsettling scheme as well as at least 94 biological siblings. The film captures the sibling's path to uncover the truth and their fury as they fail to see Dr. Donald Cline answer for his crimes. This shocking documentary raises many questions during a time when the right to reproductive care is under threat in the United States.

Outlander, Season 5:
Netflix added the fifth season of the popular historical drama series to its platform. The series was adapted from the novel series by Diana Gabaldon and follows two-time crossed lovers. Each season follows Claire as she mysteriously time travels back and forth from 1945 to 1743, where she falls in love with rebel Highlander Jamie. This steamy and intimate fantasy will transport you to another time and leave you wanting more each season.

Stranger Things Season 4:
Volume one of the new fourth season of the hit Sci-Fi series is arriving on May 27, and we can’t wait. As the cast gets older, they continue to explore the mysterious town of Hawkins and battle the secrets within. For the first time, the group of friends has split, which doesn’t make things easier at a time when a new supernatural threat surfaces. Will this finally be the end of the Upside-down? Did Milly Bobby Brown have to shave her head again for this season? All questions are to be answered in the upcoming season of everyone’s favorite supernatural series.
