London Fashion Week: Spring 2024 Collection

Emma Blythe is an American London-based fashion designer, who introduced a new interpretation of emerging gender norms. Influenced by the creative reuse of materials, in her showcase "Possessions" at London Fashion Week. she imbues her fashion creations with a fascination for human actions and the intertwined complexities of identities. She emphasizes our intrinsic longing for community, often called "flock behavior." Blythe reimagines her designs, infusing them with her perspective and providing fresh significance to each piece by integrating various film and performance techniques.

“From Greener Pastures.” The LABRUM brand was conceived by its Founder and Creative Director, driven by a clear vision: to craft genuine and intellectually stimulating apparel rooted in envisioning a world without boundaries, fostering freedom of self-expression. Through its garments, LABRUM weaves narratives that often go unnoticed—expressions shaped by a blend of West African values and British tailoring. Central to LABRUM's ethos is a deliberate and meaningful approach to creative guidance fueled by a deep affection for humanity.


ALBARELLA
Gianmaria Albarella, a menswear designer located in London, founded Albarella with the vision of establishing a platform for queer identities to freely express themselves through innovative artistic forms. Albarella's creations narrate compelling stories and amplify the voices that often go unnoticed, emphasizing inclusivity and diversity.

AW23, Albarella presented its latest installment, “'Hunty.” Albarella drew inspiration from his childhood for this collection, merging design delicacy and skin exposure with bold, masculine postures. The resulting 14 pieces vividly encapsulate his personal journey of growing up queer in Southern Italy, embodying a fusion of masculine and feminine elements highlighted through pastel hues, diverse fabrics, intricate belts, and precisely crafted cuts.


Emilia Wickstead embodies the female essence through bold color choices, tedious artisanship, tradition, and the allure of past periods with sophisticated outlines and modern elements. Her offerings now encompass seasonal ready-to-wear collections, bridal attire, bespoke creations, and made-to-order services.

Jayne Pierson was born in Wales, Pierson's philosophy is dedicated to circularity and openness, prioritizing enduring value and exceptional craftsmanship over mass manufacturing. Her mission centers on developing an ethically mindful 'slow' fashion that upholds the artistry of crafting. Being a sought-after designer for stylists seeking distinctive pieces, Pierson excels in crafting performance attire for musicians and curating apparel for celebrities and clients attending events. Moreover, she specializes in crafting specially commissioned garments and accessories for photo shoots and films, demonstrating her versatility and creativity in fashion and entertainment.

Abigail Ajobi, the designer and director, laid the foundation for her brand in 2020. "Abigail Ajobi" a luxury streetwear label with a mission to shed light on uncomfortable societal issues through its print-focused designs, aiming to drive social awareness.

To promote sustainability, the brand strictly utilizes limited quantities of dead stock fabrics and avoids placement prints, ensuring each garment is distinctive to the wearer. While emphasizing that sustainability encompasses more than just being environmentally conscious—it also involves taking action. A portion of the overall profits from each collection is directed to a charity aligned with the specific theme, contributing to causes related to the issues highlighted.
