Bishme Cromartie: Fall 2024 NYFW

On February 13th, in the middle of a snowstorm in New York, Bishme Cromartie showed his Fall 2024 collection at The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad. The collection, titled “The Batrix”, continues to explore the Project Runway alum’s obsession with mixing streetwear and avant-garde style in a perfect blend the designer calls “Street Garde”. In a striking fusion of feminine and edgy, the collection further defines the Bishme Cromartie customer as a strong woman ready for change.

The collection’s limited color palette of black, white, and red allowed Cromartie’s craftsmanship to stand out. A key example of this is a plaid skirt and jacket set. The simple cut of the floor-length skirt with a thigh-high slit draws your eye to the details of the jacket: a chic off-the-shoulder neckline, an exaggerated and oversized collar, and a bodice silhouette almost reminiscent of the iconic Dior Bar jacket. His “Street Garde” expertise shines best in looks like the one-shoulder draped slip dress layered over a trompe-l'œil mesh top or the black bomber jacket, cargo pants, and floor-length train ensemble.

Bishme Cromartie represents everything exciting about fashion. A fresh perspective, exciting risks, and exquisite construction all come together in his collections making him a name to remember.
