What pushed you to be in the entertainment industry?
I believe entertainment is one of the strongest forces that influence society, and this is important to me.  I come from a talented family, so it was a natural calling to pursue my own artistry and use my voice to shape the world to become a better place.

Who was your inspiration growing up?
My biggest inspirations growing up were Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. I love how innovative they were and how they commanded an audience, yet they always conducted themselves with class while continuously showed humility and grace.

What’s been your favorite part about filming Pose so far? How would you describe the journey in the last three years?
My favorite part about filming Pose so far has been bringing a voice, hope, and inspiration to marginalized groups like trans, queers, gender nonconforming individuals. The journey for me has been a learning experience and is also exciting because it’s all new. I also know it’s only the beginning of the long career I have ahead of me.

How do you feel about the show wrapping up this season?
I feel humbled and appreciative to be part of a show and ensemble that will go down in history for changing the world with LGBTQ+ representation. When I first heard about this show wrapping, I was initially heartbroken. I honestly feel that the subject matter, more specifically pertaining to trans people, has only now been embarked upon in the media. There are so many more social injustices still happening today that we had yet to tap into such as certain legislation, employment discrimination, extremely layered complexities and dangers with romance, and basic human rights. The reality is that many trans woman are sex workers because of the lack of job opportunities and laws we are still fighting to overturn today that hinder employment equality. Last year we saw an unfortunate record-breaking number of gruesome transgender murders in the United States, and globally the rate of trans murders went up 266% in just a year. We all know how much the media influences humanity. For many, Pose is their sole outlet for visibility and intimately safety. I’m also excited that I have the opportunity to create new and innovative stories as a producer and creative myself.
