Barry Hollywood.
2. What is your occupation?
Photographer.
3. Where are you from?
I am English. born and raised in London.
4. Where do you reside?
NYC.
5. What is your background, and how did you become involved with photography?
I started out as a hairdresser in London, then went on to work at the famous Shepperton Film Studios. Later,
I moved to NYC where I discovered photography.
6. Which artists or photographers have most influenced your work? Why?
I am very drawn to images that empower people. Photographers like Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton and Irving Penn have been a big influence on me. So do painters like Lucian Freud, Modigliani and Francis Bacon.
7. How would you describe your photography style?
My photography style is strong sexy and unapologetic with an attention to detail.
8. Do you prefer shooting in a studio or on location? Why?
I like to shoot both in studio and on location, but if pressed I would have to say the studio.
9. Which photo are you currently most proud of?
I shot a great picture of my dog in mid flight chasing his ball! im very proud of it!
10. What’s the best thing about being a fashion photographer?
The collaborative process.
11. When someone looks at your photography what do you want them to know about you?
I want them to know that each of us has an inner strength.
12. Motto in life?
"Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid."
