Christian Siriano, NYFW, Spring 2020

Christian Siriano’s show for NYFW was located at Gotham Hall. Waiting to walk in Gotham Hall, is always a pleasure to see some of Christian’s celebrities entering on a red carpet feeling sidewalk. It’s definitely good people watching. Entering Gotham Hall, where he has been showing the past few seasons, is a beautiful old building with decadent high ceilings and lavish chandeliers. Walking through to get to my seat is beautiful and large paintings by Ashley Longshore featuring Laverne Cox, Lady Gaga, and Frida Kahlo. During the show, Ashley would touch up and actually paint some touches on each canvas.

As I walked to my seat I was pleasantly surprised and happy to be seated next to a fellow stylist that I worked with back in the day and lives in Los Angeles. As the show began, models as: Candace Huffine and Coco Rocha graced the runway, and Christian’s body positivity, various shapes and sizes, featured in the collection strutted down. The models walked around the Pop-art themed paintings and wore beautiful gowns with his signature look of elaborate sleeves and frills. Also we saw tuxedos and tulle gowns in vibrant colors and classic tones as well.
