DJ Rosé, Nicole Rose Stillings
1. What is your name?
My name is Nicole Rose Stillings PKA DJ Rosé.
2. Where are you from?
I was Made in St. Louis. Where do you live now?
Aged in New York.
3. What is your Profession?
DJ, Music Director, Founder & CEO at Rosé Rockers
4. What do you love most about music and beats?
It's ability to transport you to all different times and places. Music is emotional and can inspire peace and happiness.
5. How did your career begin?
Well, in grade school, I thought I wanted to be a one hit wonder (until my two doctor parents convinced me that was an unsuitable goal). Fast Forward to after college when I started mixing for fun to wind down from a stressful day at work. To now, when music is werk!
6. How would you describe your sound?
Glam House. it's friendly and approachable but widens your horizons at the same time.
7. What are some of the places you’ve traveled to for work?
Everything from Coachella to Art Basel and more exotic places like Harbour Island, Cuba, Nicaragua and more
8. What inspires your sound?
Strong women, female artists, songs that empower and motivate you all while bringing out your inner sexy.
9. Who is someone you’d love to work with?
Charlie XCX or Kim Petras or Paris Hilton, and would love to put Rosé Rockers on all 3!!
10. What can you tell us about your podcast with Kelly and Michelle Madonna?
So I think I'm a little late to the game here as this already launched but Kelly was amazing and I am a big fan of hers!! Felt like I was hanging out with my BFFs for happy hour while we were recording.
Michelle and I have been friends for ages (over 7 years) and is now becoming a partner in Rosé Rockers. We are so honored and excited to have such an amazing #bossbabe officially join our team this month.
11. Describe what it is to be an entrepreneur.
To love a business, mission, product, or passion more than anything. To the point that it drives you forward all day every day.
12. What’s the first thing you do in the morning?
100% meditate. I do this on a daily basis (even before instagram and texts!) and visualize the success of any big performances or important meetings I have.
13. What’s the craziest thing you’ve experienced while creating or while performing?
I've heard Jeremy Scott reference the same experience and that's what made me realize it was real. Basically it's that when you're creating and giving to an audience, you're really just a vessel for those ideas to transport through. It's hard to explain but this has happened to me during some of my performances where I feel guided in a spiritual way to deliver the best sound possible for those people. I'm not even conscious to it. It's almost innate.
14. What are some of your biggest accomplishments?
I think accomplishments are really subjective. But off the top of my head: having the courage to leave a traditional career path and follow my passions. Building that passion into a 6 figure business. Taking that business into a tangible brand and getting Rosé Rockers off the ground. The best ones are yet to come.
15. From the looks on your Instagram, it looks like you’re into fashion - is that something you’d like to pursue as well?
I am already pursuing fashion with Rosé Rockers. We are the first ever headphones made FOR women (by women). We are a 100% woman owned business with a dream team of #girlbosses: Sara Pirok, Michelle Madonna & Teona Ostrov. I feel like I'm living my fairytale ;).
16. What’s next for you?
Next up- more styles and shades of headphones to suit a wider range of female preferences ;). Our mission is to make products that merge beauty and tech, and bring women joy.
17. What is your motto in life?
To be the most authentic, fearless, magnetic version of myself so that other women can be inspired to be true to themselves as well.
Street Talk, which supports emerging artists that merit being discovered.
