  1. Name?
    Sara Smith

  2. Where are you located?
Currently I am located in Mississippi. Making the big move to LA soon 🙌🏼.

  3. What is your profession?
    I am a model!

  4. What does body positive mean to you?
Body positive is two words that have a lot of meaning. First of all, BOPO is literally what it says- BODY POSITIVE! It is a “thing” that most individuals have a journey to. For me, I’ve been on my journey to body positivity for years & will continue the journey until forever. The journey goes on. Body positive is taking care of your body, knowing your body, loving your body, looking at other individuals & THEIR bodies with LOVE & POSITIVITY! You don’t have to be fat to proclaim self love & body positivity. You don’t have to be skinny to proclaim self love & body positivity. You don’t have to be a female to pursue it. You don’t have to be a male. IF YOU HAVE A BODY, BE POSITIVE ABOUT IT! IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITH A BODY, BE POSITIVE ABOUT IT! And to me, that’s what body positivity means. Showing love to all bodies. No exceptions.

5. What is your message on your Instagram page?
The message on my Instagram page is to be transparent. Overall my instagram is my real life. I am transparent about my mental health, my confidence, my insecurities, my struggles, & my success. When you & I follow someone on any social media platform (especially Instagram), half of the people- we don’t know in real life! On my personal Instagram page (sara.f.smith), I strive to show my true authentic self at all times. I want my followers to know what I’m like in real life! Whether it be that I go on my story & let my followers know that I’m struggling with my mental health, or that I go on there & share a new skin care regimen that I’m trying out for my imperfect skin!

6. What brought you to create a body positive message?
My whole journey has led to my body positive message. I created my Instagram not knowing where it would be today, but in hopes of having a huge platform to share my voice. Like I said, my whole life has led to my message today, from the little girl that had to occasionally hear something about being fat, to the middle schooler that never had a boyfriend & blamed it on her weight & appearance, to the senior in high school that met her forever love & pushed her to realize how worthy she was to be loved by herself, him, and the whole world. (Thanks babe!)

7. What are the things you like about the way you look?
Okay honestly, I promise I am being totally real. I find beauty and love in every part of my body. I love the texture & thickness of my hair. I love the way my eyes sparkle & change colors. I love my round nose. I love the color and shape of my lips. I love my chubby cheeks. I love the way my bust gently fades into my side rolls that then form my waist. I love my hips that hold a treasure on each side; my tummy that folds & my booty that sketches stretch marks & dimples. Down to my legs- they get me from place to place. There’s beauty in every part of every body.

8. In what ways do you take care of your body and keep it healthy?
Self care is so important. To take care of my body & keep it healthy, I practice self love. My way of self love includes skin care, clean eating, exercise, and love! Am I perfect at every single category of self care? That’s a big no! My personal view is that if you love yourself, you take care of yourself. Fuel your body with the right food, treat your skin right, & show your body how it can move- be proud of that!

9. What makes a girl or woman beautiful to you?
Courage, strength, support, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, compassion, considerate, adventurous, etc. All of this comes with being a woman. Women are built to be beautiful. And that’s what makes women beautiful to me.

10. What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of where I am in life. Not just what is around me, but what is within me. I am proud of the woman I have become. I am proud of what I have achieved so far in this life. I am proud that I have become brave. I am proud that I have learned how to love. I am proud that I have become my own inspiration. I am proud of me.

11. What is your favorite meal and why?
My favorite meal...hmmm. That’s a hard one. I love good food! But my favorite meal would have to be any kind of sushi & a water with lemon. Does that count as a meal?! I hope so because I think I could live off of sushi & lemon water.
