When I started out in the fashion industry at In Style Magazine, I caught a glimpse for the first time of hats by Eric Javits. Many of the styles reminded me l of Old Hollywood and of it’s luxurious and glamorous appeal. The actress Hedy Lamarr seen here below is the perfect example of this aura.

When I started out in the fashion industry at In Style Magazine, I caught a glimpse of hats by Eric Javits for the first time. The style of the hats instantly reminded me of Old Hollywood and the appeal of it’s luxurious and glamorous lifestyle. The actress Hedy Lamarr is the perfect illustration of this era.

Eric Javits opened his women's hat business in 1985, after studying painting and sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design. He decided to design millinery for his love of art intertwined with fashion. All of Eric’s hats are manufactured in New York.

Eric’s The Squishee Hat was an answer to a widespread concern about melanoma and the damaging effects of the sun, Eric developed a collection of stitched braid hats that are now tested by independent labs and receive the highest rating of 50+ UPF, providing maximum UVA/UVB protection.
